In September, Team Liquid just opened an Esports center in Europe called: Alienware Training Center in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Liquid’s new building is built to combine a variety of services: the first and second floors are training centers while the upper floors serve as apartments. It’s just a minute’s walk from Utrecht Central train station.
Alienware Training Facility (English name) is used for many purposes: where Team Liquid players practice, staff offices, dining and entertainment areas, even a “fan zone”.
Professional investment
Many features of the new center have the familiar design of the Alienware Training Facility in Los Angeles, California USA. For example, they have a personal chef who prepares meals for every member of Team Liquid: players, coaches, and staff.
Serving food at home, usually only common in technology companies, has now helped Team Liquid lead a healthy life for employees. Their focus is on form, but it’s not just the players. It applies to the entire organization so that all can work at their best and support each other well.
The center has a dining room for players, coaches and staff to eat and entertain together. If you don’t want to be in the common area, Team Liquid also has a private space. Most rooms are soundproofed when the door is closed. Recruiters and coaches can use the entire floor with 13 private apartments on the center.
The area above the center is for bootcamp teams, who can stay here for months at a time to practice. Each unit includes its own bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, Alienware gaming PC, and separate sleeping area. Furnished with modern furnishings, the apartments are designed with no branding whatsoever, to allow visiting gamers to have their own space while in a completely unfamiliar city.
While the players were the ones who actually won trophies and championships, they were supported by the organization. As a result, esports trophies collected over the past two decades are displayed at the entrance and dining hall showing Team Liquid’s achievements since its early days.
The city of Utrecht has a very strong Internet network, due to its geographical advantage, and they just launched a Gigabit system in 2020. The Alienware Training Facility in Utrecht uses a 20-gigabit, 100% fiber network system. The organization works with network providers to have direct transmission to the data center without going through an intermediary, helping to achieve the lowest possible latency for the players.
Team Liquid’s esports center is designed for a variety of purposes thanks to its architecture, spaciousness, speed, bandwidth, and state-of-the-art technology. These make it possible for every aspect of the company’s operations to integrate and utilize every facility for the needs of the business.
“This world-class center is equipped with the best Alienware hardware and premium technology solutions from Dell Techonologies,” said Bryan de Zayas, global director of marketing for Dell Techonologies.
Fans can visit the official website to learn more about the center.
