Capcom’s action RPG, Monster Hunter: World, is coming to PC next month. While PC gamers are excited to join the monster hunt, one of the things that makes PC so attractive is the quality of the graphics. But how will the PC version look different from the PS4 Pro?
To answer this question, YouTuber Arekkz compared the PS4 Pro and PC versions of Monster Hunter World. The PC version is shown at the highest and lowest settings in the video, while the PS4 Pro is displayed in framerate mode. The video shows us some key points, cutscenes as well as some gameplay.
In the cutscenes, it’s hard to tell the PS4 Pro and PC apart. While the PC is the more powerful machine, some of the shipwreck and pub cutscenes (like the character armor) are more visible in the PS4 Pro version. In another cutscene, when the player is blown away by the wind, and the NPC praises the “new world,” the difference between the two versions is almost the same.
The difference between the two is more obvious as the player joins the world. During the first fight with Great Jagras, viewers can clearly see that the area light becomes sharper and clearer than the PS4 Pro. As Arrekz went deeper into the forest, the landscape became clearer, as well as the details of the scenes. For example, the PC version shows individual bark fibers, while the PS4 Pro version only shows the tree in general.
However, Arrekz’s video only shows 10 minutes of Monster Hunter World gameplay while the game contains hundreds of hours of gameplay, so it’s still too early to say anything. The most obvious plus from the PC version is the shorter standby time and more stable frame.
Monster Hunter World Available now on PS4 and Xbox One. The game will launch on PC on August 9.
