5 legendary games that deserve a second part

There are many games that have great growth potential but unfortunately there is no part two.

The fact that the game series comes out every 1 or 2 years is something that can make many gamers bored. The reason is because many games later lose their uniqueness.

Still, it’s understandable why game developers would choose to build their work into an extended series. Besides the economic benefits, die-hard fans of a game series will always be anxious to see how the story will unfold.

However, not all great games have a second part. Although this does not detract from the work, it is a pity that the game you love does not have the opportunity to develop in the future.

This is especially sadder when there are low-quality games that are given a second or third chance, while the great games are left out. Here are 5 games that deserve a sequel.

5. Jade Empire

Jade Empire is often considered one of Bioware’s best forgotten games.

Launched in 2005 and Xbox exclusive, it was the company’s first work that wasn’t based on an existing brand. JE is inspired by Asian mythology and martial arts, which is a breath of fresh air as very few RPGs are based on these elements.

Similar to most Bioware titles, players can choose the path of good or evil. The game has two moral paths: the path of the open palm (the good path) and the path of the closed fist (the bad path).

In addition, the game also provides up to 15 different martial arts that our characters can learn as they go deeper into the game. Some techniques are specifically designed for certain ethical paths. This, combined with the plot twists and turns, makes Jade Empire incredibly replayable.

4. Bully

Ever since Bully was released in 2006, fans have been asking Rockstar Games to develop a sequel.

Because of its school theme and misleading title (Bully means bully, while the main character spends most of his time helping his friends) this game caused a lot of controversy. The game is even banned in Brazil.

Overall, Bully is a GTA game for teenagers, combining fun gameplay with a funny story but many serious moments. Unfortunately, we don’t see a sequel to this game because Rockstar is putting all their efforts into the development of GTA 6.

3. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Despite being a spin-off game with a main character that was once a hated name in 2001, Metal Gear Rising (hereinafter referred to as MGR) achieved great success.

Unlike Metal Gear Solid, which focuses on stealth, MGR focuses on high-speed sword fights, making Raiden a completely different character from Snake. In addition, the Blade Mode mechanism allows players to adjust their sword strokes as accurately as possible to defeat certain targets.

Why does MGR deserve a sequel? Because according to the current timeline, the story of Solid Snake and Big Boss has both come to an end, while the story of Raiden as well as the Metal Gear universe after 2018 is still open.

2. Sleeping Dog

Although often called the GTA of Hong Kong, Sleeping Dog is still a good game with unique elements.

Sleeping Dog’s strongest point is the gameplay that focuses on martial arts elements. The reason is that in Hong Kong, guns are not as widespread as in the US, so martial arts will be how the main character Wei Shen solves most of the problem.

Since Wei Shen is an undercover cop, he will have to limit unnecessary damage while on duty as much as possible. However, the game also encourages gamers to use brutal moves to play the role of a Gypsy in the most believable way.

Sleeping Dogs 2, which was in the early stages of development, would not become a reality because studio United Front Games went bankrupt. This is a pity because the leaked information shows that part 2 will have a Co-op mode.

1. LA Noire

When LA Noire came out, the MotionScan technology that the game used was truly revolutionary. Despite some flaws, the detailed rendering of the actors’ facial expressions in a video game was unprecedented.

Combining the above elements with a story inspired by detective movies, LA Noire has brought players a very new experience. Each mission in the game is a separate case for the player to solve. You must search for clues, interrogate suspects and ultimately determine who is guilty.

What makes LA Noire special is that players will have to rely on the facial expressions of witnesses and suspects to determine if they are lying or telling the truth. This is a mechanic that, given more time to develop, is sure to become the new standard for investigative games.

Unfortunately, developer Team Bondi has been inactive since 2011 and while Rockstar holds the trademark rights, the possibility of this game having a part 2 is very slim because the company is busy developing the GTA series.
